Ohio woman critically hurt in U.S. 6 collision

BRADNER, Ohio - A Salem, Ohio, woman was hurt seriously yesterday when her car and another collided at U.S. 6 and Pemberville Road in Wood County's Freedom Township north of here, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Amanda Hendricks, 23, was flown to Toledo Hospital, where she was in critical condition last night, a hospital spokesman said.

Ms. Hendricks was eastbound on U.S. 6 about 7:45 a.m. when she was hit by a car being driven north on Pemberville by Gwendolyn Althaus, 45, of Bradner, troopers at the patrol's Walbridge post said.

Ms. Althaus, who was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. A hospital spokesman said she had no information on a patient by that name.

Ms. Althaus was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign, troopers said.
