A West Toledo man was hurt Friday night when the tractor-trailer he was driving went off the Ohio Turnpike near I-280 in Lake Township and rolled over, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Herman Rone, 67, was treated in St. Charles Mercy Hospital for injuries that included cuts on his head, said Sgt. Jim Czerniakowski of the patrol s Swanton post.

Mr. Rone was westbound on the turnpike about two miles east of I-280 about 8:50 p.m. when he went off the road and through a ditch and a right-of-way fence.

The tractor-trailer rolled over on its driver s side and came to rest in a farm field, the sergeant said.

Troopers had to break the windshield to help Mr. Rone out of the truck, he said.

Mr. Rone was cited for failure to control, Sergeant Czerniakowski said.
