Perrysburg OKs 2006 budget

Perrysburg City Council unanimously approved the city's 2006 budget last night.

Revenue in the proprietary fund, which covers water and sewer services, is estimated at $8,458,400. The fund's operating expenditures are expected to be $8,957,290.

Revenue in the combined fund, which includes the rest of the budget, is estimated at $18,551,765. Operating expenses are budgeted at $19,179,370.

Capital projects in the budget include about $1.7 million for building a crosstown force main to relieve backup at the Ford Street pump station, $850,000 for a 100-foot elevated platform fire truck, and $670,740 to extend Findlay Street across West Boundary Street.

In other business, council agreed to award a $1,299,985 contract to Kirk Brothers of Findlay for construction of a sanitary sewer along Five Point Road.

Council unanimously approved creating a municipal development fund to pay for community development activities, such as fireworks and matching grants for facade enhancements.
