2 more libraries getting video-conferencing

1/8/2006

The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library has received a $169,465 grant to expand video-conferencing capability to the Heatherdowns and Kent branch libraries, starting this month.

About 75 percent of the money came from the federal government and the rest from the State Library of Ohio.

The grant will be used for enhancing audio-visual and video-conferencing equipment at the libraries meeting rooms, where more than 40 programs have been planned through May.

Six library locations already have video-conferencing capabilities, including the Main library and five branch libraries: South, Lagrange, Waterville, Mott, and West Toledo.
