Should I stay or should I go?

Winter is time to recuperate, plan spring and summer runs, and do the dance between outdoor and indoor runs. Not long after watching a light snow fill the air Saturday, I decided to complete a short run on the treadmill.

After living in Minnesota for five years, a treadmill had become mandatory for making it through gusty and wet weather. Now in Ohio, it can at times become a crutch.

Thoughts turn to the May 13 Fifth Third River Bank Run in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The River Bank claims to be the largest 25K road race in the United States and a solid long run/spring marathon prep. I have planned for this pretty 15.5-mile run for several years, but something has always bumped it from the schedule. We re not signed up yet, but the lack of drifting snow on the treadmill makes it easier to visualize.
