ADA

  • Ohio Northern University will sponsor a community wellness fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the McIntosh Center. The event, which includes cholesterol and glucose testing, hypertension screening, fitness screening, and body composition testing, is free and open to the public.

    BLUFFTON

  • Donna Myers, chief of the U.S. Geological Survey's National Water-Quality Assessment program, will present "How Healthy Are Our Rivers, Streams, and Aquifers" at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Bluffton University's Yoder Recital Hall. Her lecture is free and open to the public.

  • Gerald Biesecker-Mast, associate professor of communication at Bluffton University, will speak on vocational ethics at 4 p.m. Friday at the Stutzman Lecture Hall in Centennial Hall. His presentation is free and open to the public.

    BOWLING GREEN

  • Join the Wood County Park District for a winter hike at Cedar Creeks Preserve on Walbridge Road and State Rt. 51 from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Register on-line at www.wcparks.org.

  • Bring the family to Otsego Park to play some nature and historical games from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The games will be indoors and outdoors. Register on-line at www.wcparks.org.

    FINDLAY

  • Preschoolers ages 3-6 and an adult companion are invited to learn about robins and what they do during the winter at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. today at Oakwoods Nature Preserve.

    Sponsored by the Hancock Park District, the event will include a story followed by crafts and activities.

  • The Hancock Park District invites dog owners and their dogs to take a refreshing winter walk from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Riverbend Recreation Area, beginning in the Big Oaks parking lot.

    Participants should take along a plastic bag to keep the trails clean. No registration is necessary.

    HURON

  • Hikers can look and listen for owls during a walk from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Osborn Park's Frost Center.

    LIMA

  • Geneva Red, a nationally known female instrumentalist who performs on the blues harp, will give a free concert at the Allen County Museum, 620 West Market St. at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

    She will perform with Jackie 5 & Dime in a duo they call The Original Delta Fireballs, which they formed to educate and share appreciation for the Blues tradition.

    PORT CLINTON

  • Pet First Aid class to be offered by the Ottawa County District office of the American Red Cross at Magruder Hospital, 615 Fulton St. The first class will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

    The cost is $25 and includes a Pet First Aid handbook. Registration in advance is required.
