BLUFFTON

  • The Rev. Floyd H. Flake, president of Wilberforce University and a former congressman, will speak at the annual Martin Luther King, Jr., forum at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Bluffton University s Yoder Recital Hall. In HIS Presence Gospel Choir from Wright State University will perform at 7 tonight in Yoder Recital Hall. Both events are free and open to the public.

    BOWLING GREEN

  • Readers are invited to get together to swap titles of books they have enjoyed and their favorite authors names at Open Book Nite at the Wood County District Public Library, 251 North Main St., at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Information will be available about the library s three book clubs.

  • Matt Baumgardner, a Wood County farmer, will speak at a public forum on factory farms sponsored by Democracy for Northwest Ohio at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Maumee Valley Unitarian-Universalist Church, 20189 North Dixie Hwy. Admission is free.

  • Preschoolers and their adult companions are invited to a night hike from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the W.W. Knight Nature Center at East River and White roads in Perrysburg Township. Warm up with hot cocoa by the fire after the hike. Register at www.wcparks.org.

  • Take a hike in the Wood County Park District s snowflake adventure hiking series from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the W.W. Knight Preserve. Meet in the nature center lobby. Register at www.wcparks.org.

  • Birchard Public Library s Pick of the Litter book discussion group begins a new series, Not For Kids Only: Revisiting the Books We Loved As Children, tomorrow with The Mystery of Nancy Drew. All discussions are held from 7 to 8:15 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month.

    FINDLAY

  • Dr. Winnie Dunn, a national expert on how the brain interprets sensory information, will give two free public lectures at the University of Findlay s Alumni Memorial Union. Her first talk, Going Public: We re Not Just About Disability Anymore, will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, and Creating a Sensational Practice will be at 9:15 a.m. Friday. Dr. Dunn chairs of the University of Kansas Medical Center s occupational therapy education department.

    PERRYSBURG

  • Larry Nelson, adjunct assistant professor of history at Firelands College and former site manager at Fort Meigs, will talk about The Fort William Henry Massacre and the Last of the Mohicans, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fort Meigs Visitor Center, 29100 West River Rd. The speech is free and open to the public.

    TOLEDO

  • A multimedia exhibition titled An American Journey: The Art of Frank Murphy, continues through Jan. 31 at the Collingwood Arts Center, 2413 Collingwood Blvd. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

  • Underage Drinking in College: Dry Vs. Wet Campuses, is the title of a free program set for 3 to 4:15 p.m. Thursday at Community Partnership, 5902 Southwyck Blvd.

  • Jack Paquette, a retired Owens-Illinois Inc. vice president, will discuss his book when the American Legion Toledo Post 335 has its weekly luncheon at noon Friday at The Toledo Club, Madison Avenue and 14th Street.
