BELLEVUE, Ohio The city s Fourth Ward councilman has resigned because of a possible conflict between that position and her job with the Huron County Health Department.

Kathy Loparo, elected as an Independent in November, cited a state law that could prohibit her from holding her county position and the council seat, Mayor David Kile said. Ms. Loparo announced her resignation Monday. Council has 30 days to choose a replacement.

Council also gave a first reading to a proposed tax-sharing agreement with York Township. Under the deal, the city would continue to pay the township real estate taxes collected on property annexed to the city.
