Findlay agrees to help fund work-release center

2/8/2006

FINDLAY The Hancock County commissioners yesterday finalized a one-year agreement with the city of Findlay over how the bills will be paid at the Rehabilitation and Opportunity Center, known as the ROC.

The commissioners had decided to close the pay-to-stay work-release center because of budget problems, but Mayor Tony Iriti was among those who persuaded them to keep the facility open.

Under the new operating agreement, the city will pay a share of the maintenance and utility costs at the center and will pay a proportionate amount of the operating expenses if they exceed the income coming in from men and women sentenced to the ROC.
