Fostoria United Way taps BGSU grad as director

FOSTORIA The United Way of Fostoria has named Bellevue native Linda Cooper-Smith its new executive director.

Mrs. Cooper-Smith, who just received a master s degree in career and technology education from Bowling Green State University, replaces Denny Studrawa, who led the agency for 15 years. Her first board meeting was last night.

The job s annual salary is $36,000. Mrs. Cooper-Smith, who lives in Tiffin, is a former trustee for Fostoria s First Step Domestic Violence Shelter and a former trustee and vice president for the United Way of Sandusky County.

She has worked as an investigator for the Sandusky County Prosecutor s Office and as city auditor in Bellevue.

For the past year, she worked for BGSU s Partnership for Community Action office as its grants coordinator.
