ALGER, Ohio The developers of a proposed Hardin County dairy farm that would be Ohio s largest are seeking approval of a wastewater control permit for a 4,500-cow operation.

A public hearing on the request by Vreba-Hoff Dairy is set for 6:30 p.m. March 28 at Upper Scioto Valley High School in McGuffey, Ohio.

Vreba-Hoff is developing the Van Deurzen Dairy at 2500 County Road 110, south of Alger in Hardin County. During the hearing, representatives of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency will provide information and answer questions about the project and the permitting process.

The Ohio Department of Agriculture has issued permits to build and operate the facility, and the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority has approved up to $7 million in tax-exempt financing for waste-management facilities for the project.
