TINY TOADS MAKING COMEBACK

3/17/2006

The Toledo Zoo has debuted an exhibit showcasing spray toads, tiny amphibians believed to be extinct in the wild. Visitors can see the toads, which are less than

an inch long when fully grown, in the Diversity of Life building. The toads have flourished in recent years at the Toledo Zoo and the Bronx Zoo. Both zoos are working with the government of Tanzania, the spray toads native home, to return them to their natural habitat.
