Seneca County ready to hire dog warden

TIFFIN A special deputy with the Hancock County Sheriff s Department has been chosen to be the new Seneca County dog warden, replacing an interim dog warden who was hired in the wake of a shake-up in the agency.

The county commissioners plan to formally hire Matthew Crouch when they meet on Monday. He will be paid $12 an hour. Mr. Crouch also served as animal control officer for the Hancock County Humane Society.

He will replace Patricia Forsyth, who was hired March 13 on a temporary basis to replace two employees who left the agency following a controversy over euthanizing a dog.
