BLUFFTON

  • Lee Snyder, president of Bluffton University, will give her final State of the University address at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Yoder Recital Hall. Ms. Lee is to retire at the end of this school year.

  • Melissa Friesen, assistant professor of communication and theater at Bluffton University, will present "Nonviolent Representations of Stage Violence" at 4 p.m. Friday in Stutzman Lecture Hall in Centennial Hall at Bluffton University. The event is free and open to the public.

  • Free blood pressure screenings will be offered by the American Red Cross from 11 a.m. until noon Friday at the Wood, Sandusky, Ottawa, and Seneca Senior Center, 514 Main St.

  • A town hall meeting on underage drinking will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tomorrow at St. Luke's Hospital.

    PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP

  • A seminar on federal labor laws will be held for Northwest Ohio business professionals from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Owens Community College's Workforce and Community Services on Tracy Road.

  • Owens Community College will host its Relay for Life, an annual walk in support of cancer awareness, from 6 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday on its campus Oregon Road campus. The event will begin with an opening ceremony in the college's Student Health and Activities Center.

    SYLVANIA

  • "Crime Against Seniors" is the topic of a free seminar to be presented by the Senior Collaborative on Wednesday at the Franciscan Center at Lourdes College, with the afternoon session beginning at 2 p.m. and the evening session at 5:30 p.m. Exhibits will open an hour prior to the start of the sessions.

  • "Operation LUSTY: The Collection and Use of German Aviation Technology at the End of World War II" will be the topic of the final Arts and Angles program for the 2005-06 season at Tiffin University at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Chisholm Auditorium at Franks Hall on TU's campus.

  • Toledo native Christine Brennan, a USA Today sports columnist and network TV analyst, will present "There's a Woman in the Locker Room: How a Toledo Girl Grew Up to Travel the World Covering Sports" at a Tiffin University's Good Morning World breakfast lecture set for 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at Camden Falls Reception Hall, 2460 South State Rt. 231. The cost is $8.

  • Ryan Zinn, a heart recipient who grew up in Seneca County and his mother, Barbara Zinn, will discuss "Organ Donation from a Personal Perspective" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Mercy Community Service Center, 539 West Market St. The event is free and open to the public.

  • Tiffin University's Student Exhibition 2006 featuring student artworks will open Thursday with a reception set for 7 to 9 p.m. The public is invited. Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

  • The Seneca County Junior Fair Foundation will hold its fifth annual Collectibles and Toy Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Seneca County Fairgrounds, 100 Hopewell Ave. Parking and admission are free. A new addition to the show will be the inaugural of the Antique Farm Machinery Swap Meet.

  • Incoming University of Toledo President Dr. Lloyd Jacobs, who is currently president of the Medical University of Ohio, will speak to the Rotary Club of Toledo at its weekly luncheon meeting at noon today at the Zenobia Shrine, 1511 Madison Ave.

  • "Appellate Practice" is the topic of a weekly luncheon meeting of the Lucas County Bar Association set for noon today at Georgio's Cafe International, 426 North Superior St.

  • "The Case for a Children's Medical-Legal Collaborative" is topic of a community forum to begin at 4 p.m. tomorrow at McMaster Center of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, 325 North Michigan St.

  • An educational public symposium on diversity in education will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at Hilton-Toledo, 3100 Glendale Ave.

  • Salima Ikram, a professor of Egyptology at American University in Cairo, will give an illustrated lecture titled "Ancient Egyptian Mummies: Making the Dead Live" at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the University of Toledo Law Center Auditorium on the university's main campus.

  • The Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board of Lucas County will hold its 2006 awards ceremony and soiree from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hilton-Toledo, 3100 Glendale Ave.

  • The League of Women Voters of Toledo-Lucas County and L'aime Inc. will present a forum on domestic violence at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Sanger branch of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, 3030 West Central Ave.

  • The Rev. Jeff Wheeland, pastor at Fallen Timbers Community Church, will be the featured speaker at the American Legion Toledo Post 335 weekly luncheon at noon at the Toledo Club, Madison Avenue and 14th Street. Captain Wheeland returned to his Waterville church in January after more than a year of active duty as an Army chaplain in Iraq.

  • The University of Toledo Alumni Association Minority Affiliate will hold its 15th annual Recognition of Excellence Dinner at 6 p.m. Friday in the Ingman Room of the university's Student Union. Honorees include David Carter, Ora M. Bell, Larry A. Jones, and Joyce Brown.

  • A free program titled "Creating a Healthier World" is set for 12:30 to 3:15 p.m. Saturday at the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library's McMaster Center, 325 North Michigan St.
