  • Bonnie and Brad Taylor and their sons, Robert, 7, and Nicholas, 9, came dressed in train engineer attire to the North American Model Engineering Exhibition held last weekend at the SeaGate Centre in downtown Toledo. Mr. Taylor says his family, from McComb, Ohio, loves all things related to mechanical engineering, but they are especially interested in steam engines.

Ian Killenberger, 14, and his father, Dan, from Howell, Mich., examine a model of an 1890 American La France steam-powered, horse-drawn fire rig. The 17th annual exhibition offered a broad range of models, books, tools, and new and used machinery for sale. Exhibitors showed their old and new hot air, gas, and steam engines.
