Hardin County collision kills resident of Dunkirk

McGUFFEY, Ohio A 42-year-old woman was killed Friday when the vehicle she was driving and a sport utility vehicle collided at State Rt. 701 and Hardin County Road 65, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Jacqueline Castle of Dunkirk, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband and passenger, Donald Castle, 39, of Dunkirk, was treated at St. Rita s Mercy Medical Center.

The SUV driver and a passenger, both juveniles whose names were not released, were taken to Lima Memorial Hospital. Their conditions were not available.

Mrs. Castle s car was westbound on Route 701 just after 5 p.m. when the SUV, traveling north on Road 65, failed to yield at a stop sign and struck the car, causing it to overturn, troopers said.

Both vehicles went off the northwest corner of the intersection, striking a stop sign and utility pole, authorities said.
