HILLSDALE, Mich. - A city public utilities truck became wedged under a bridge yesterday on Hallett Street east of Hidden Meadows Lane, Hillsdale County sheriff's deputies said.

Jesse Roland-Vincent Adkins, 22, of Hillsdale, was driving east on Hallett about 8 a.m. in a city boom truck when the end of the boom over the truck's cab hit the viaduct, which has a 10-foot clearance, deputies said.

The truck's right side tires were lifted off the ground when it became stuck under the bridge for the Indiana Northeastern railroad tracks.

Mr. Adkins was taken to Hillsdale Community Health Center for treatment of minor injuries. A hospital spokesman declined to release information about Mr. Adkins.
