Napoleon driver dies after collision

NAPOLEON - The driver of a car that collided with a van on Henry County Road U five miles northwest of here died of her injuries yesterday, officials said.

Three of five people in the van were hurt in Wednesday night's crash, the sheriff's office said.

Lavonne Hoover, 43, of Napoleon was flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where she died at 8:12 a.m., a hospital spokesman said.

The Lucas County coroner's office will conduct an autopsy today.

Jeremy Walker, 28, Cindy Walker, 28, and James Carr, 56, were treated at Henry County Hospital, Napoleon.

Jeremiah Walker, 3; Autumn Walker, 1, and Murieal Carr, 53, were not hurt. All are from London, Ky.

Mr. Walker was driving west on Road U about 8:20 p.m. when he attempted to turn left onto southbound Road 16 and was hit by Ms. Hoover's car, which was northbound on Road 16 and failed to stop at a stop sign, deputies said.

The crash remains under investigation, deputies said.
