Perrysburg can enforce annexation contracts

Perrysburg now can enforce annexation contracts signed by residents of a Perrysburg Township subdivision after a preliminary injunction was lifted yesterday.

The city agreed to not take any action involving the Willowbend residents for 30 days, city law director Pete Gwyn said.

Both sides agreed to lift the injunction during a pretrial hearing in Wood County Common Pleas Court, he said.

The case had been on hold while a similar case was being considered by the Ohio Supreme Court. That court ruled in March that the city can force nonresidents to agree to be annexed as a condition of receiving city water service.
