Elmore cancels advisory to boil water

ELMORE The boil-water advisory put in place yesterday afternoon has been lifted, village officials said this afternoon.

Residents were told to boil their water before cooking, drinking, and washing dishes as a precautionary measure because a contractor struck and broke a water line.

The advisory was instituted because of concerns that bacteria could have made its way into the water, but officials said water samples came back clean.
