Driver airlifted to Toledo after crash near Vickery

VICKERY, Ohio - A Sandusky woman remained in critical condition yesterday in a Toledo hospital, a day after she was hurt in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 6 in Sandusky County's Townsend Township east of Vickery, the sheriff's office reported.

Margaret Whyde, 49, was flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

The incident occurred about 8:20 p.m. on U.S. 6, just east of Sandusky County Road 306, when her eastbound car went off the north side of the road and struck a utility pole, deputies said.

The accident remains under investigation; no citations have been issued, deputies said.
