The Lucas County Mental Health Board and the Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board of Lucas County merged into one agency yesterday.

The county commissioners unanimously approved a resolution that created the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Lucas County. The agencies merged to create a more efficient way to deliver mental health and alcohol and other drug services.

Commissioners also named 10 members to the new agency's 18-member board of trustees. Four members are appointed by the Ohio Department of Mental Health, and four by the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services.
