Organizations and individuals are invited to attend a holiday decorator's meeting at the Wood County Historical Center at 2 p.m. Saturday to discuss the Old Home Holiday decorating which will begin in November. RSVP by calling the museum or emailing museum@woodcountyhistory.org.

The Findlay Civic Band will perform as part of the Riverside Summer Concert Series at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen P. Dudley Memorial Band Shell and Dick Daugherty Plaza at Riverside Park. The concert is free.

Sandusky County Park District holds four public events this week:

  • Firefly Fantasia for ages 5 and under with adult companions at 8 p.m. tomorrow at White Star Park Barn (registration required);

  • White Star Beach Party, with free admission, from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday at White Star Park;

  • A movie night at 9:30 p.m. Friday at White Star Quarry (For the movie title and registration, call the park district.);

    Ohio singer and songwriter Bob Ford will perform during a free Verandah Concert from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center, where a free ice cream social will begin at 6:45 p.m.

    PERRYSBURG

    Eugene Watkins, a doctoral candidate at the University of Toledo, will discuss "Cousin Jonathan: The Common Soldier in the War of 1812" at

    7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fort Meigs Visitor Center, 29100 West River Rd. The event is free.

    Drums Along the Maumee, a concert of military percussion music from the colonial period through the American Civil War, will run at Fort Meigs on Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    PUT-IN-BAY

    An evening of live classic big band music featuring the Johnny Knorr Orchestra is set for 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Crew's Nest Pavilion on Bay View Avenue. Tickets are $50.

    SANDUSKY

    The "Festival of the Jester" Mardi Gras Festival will run from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, featuring traditional to modern blues and jazz, French and Southern-style food, beads, and costumes.

    TOLEDO

    Ohio State University Extension at Toledo Botanical Garden will hold a gypsy moth open house from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the garden's conference center, 5403 Elmer Drive.
