Motorcyclist thrown, injured after hitting truck

CASTALIA, Ohio A motorcyclist was hurt yesterday when he collided with a pickup in rural Erie County, authorities said.

Louis W. Jensen, 63, of Vermilion, Ohio, was flown to Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center following the 7:35 p.m. crash, according to troopers from the Ohio Highway Patrol s Sandusky post. Hospital officials had no information on Mr. Jensen.

Mr. Jensen was headed west on Mason Road in Margaretta Township, approaching Maple Avenue, when a pickup driven by Donald Weyer, 50, of Sandusky, heading east on Mason, pulled in front of him while turning north at the intersection, troopers said.

Mr. Jensen ran into the pickup s side and was thrown from his motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet.

Mr. Weyer was not injured, and he was cited for failing to yield. The crash remains under investigation.
