BOWLING GREEN

John Doyle Ong, chairman emeritus of the B.F. Goodrich Co., will be the guest speaker at a midyear luncheon sponsored by the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bowling Green State University's Bowen-Thompson Student Union. The "I Love BG" and scholarship awards will be presented.

Area residents will be offered stroke screenings tomorrow at St. Mary Catholic Church, 715 Jefferson Ave., beginning at 9 a.m.

The Findlay Civic Band will perform as part of the Riverside Summer Concert Series at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen P. Dudley Memorial Band Shell and Dick Daugherty Plaza at Riverside Park. The concert is free.

Hancock Heritage Days are Saturday and Sunday at Riverbend Recreation Area. The Civil War living-history event is noon-10 p.m. Saturday and noon-4p.m. Sunday.

The Genoa American Legion Band will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday at Birchard Park.

Railroad historian John P. Hankey will present "Who is a Railroader?" at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Allen County Museum, 620 West Market St. His presentation is free and open to the public. It is held in conjunction with the traveling exhibit "A Visible Past: Portraits of Work on the Baltimore & Ohio," which is on display at the museum through Sept. 30.

An Arts in the Park festival will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ottawa Memorial Park.

Ohio Democratic Chairman Chris Redfern will host a town-hall meeting with residents of Erie County from 6 to 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Sandusky Library, 114 West Adams St.
