Lucas Co. residents may get help in keeping cool

7/24/2006

The Home Energy Assistance Program is helping Lucas County residents struggling financially to keep cool this summer.

The program offers those who qualify a one-time $200 voucher to pay for an electric bill or provide residents with an air conditioner.

To receive an air conditioner, a member of the household must have a doctor s note saying it ll benefit the health of someone living in the home, and it is limited to one per household.

To receive help with an electric bill, customers must provide all utility bills when applying. Those who apply must meet income-eligibility guidelines. For an appointment with a HEAP specialist, call 1-866-504-7392.
