Seneca County man dies in collision on U.S. 224

BLOOMVILLE, Ohio A 44-year-old man was killed yesterday when his car collided with another on U.S. 224 at State Rt. 19 north of here in Seneca County, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Dean Pipher of Bloomville was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers at the patrol s Fremont post said.

Nichole Workman, 35, and her passenger, Kenneth Workman, 40, both of Fostoria were taken to Tiffin Mercy Hospital. A hospital spokesman declined to release any information about either person.

Mr. Pipher was eastbound on U.S. 224 about 12:10 a.m. when he attempted to pass a vehicle and struck the car being driven westbound on U.S. 224 by Ms. Workman, troopers said.

Mr. Pipher was not wearing a seat belt; Mr. and Ms. Workman were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
