The Lucas County chapter of the Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program has announced receipt of a $482,468 grant from the Governor s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.

The funds from the Ohio Strengthening Families Initiative Collaboration Grant were awarded to UMADAOP, a community-based organization, because of its efforts to sustain strong marriages and help families build healthy relationships in the Lucas County area.

UMADAOP hopes to increase the percentage of two-parent homes, educate the public about the value of healthy marriages, and provide skills to help couples form healthy and sustainable marriages.
