HASKINS - A Maumee man was hit by a vehicle after a road rage incident yesterday on State Rt. 65 at State Rt. 64 just north of here in Wood County's Middleton Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Donald R. Krause, 60, was treated at St. Luke's Hospital for cuts to his forehead and knee, troopers said.

Mr. Krause and Michael D. Mulford, 41, of Perrysburg, were involved in an altercation about 7:20 a.m. as they were southbound on Route 64, troopers said.

Mr. Krause turned onto southbound Route 65, stopped in the road, and got out of his vehicle. The men exchanged words, and as Mr. Mulford drove away he hit Mr. Krause with the front of his vehicle and knocked him down, troopers said.

Mr. Mulford later returned to the scene, and a slight dent was in his hood, troopers said. He was not hurt.

The incident remains under investigation and will be presented to the Wood County Prosecutor's Office for possible charges, troopers said.
