CECIL, Ohio - A Canadian truck driver was killed yesterday on U.S. 24 when he drove into the rear of a truck stopped ahead of him in Paulding County, 14 miles east of the Indiana border, troopers with the Van Wert post of the Ohio Highway patrol said.

Danny Pavao, 30, Leamington, Ont., was pronounced dead at the scene by the Paulding County coroner. His truck hit a westbound tractor-trailer rig hauling molten aluminum and caught fire around 5 a.m., troopers said. Firefighters extinguished the flames.

Troopers said Terry Manning, 31, of Edon, Ohio, had stopped to turn left and was waiting for traffic to clear when his vehicle was rear-ended.
