FREMONT - Investigators with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources yesterday were investigating a weekend boating accident that sent two teenagers among the six people aboard the boat to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The 21-foot Wellcraft apparently struck an object in the Sandusky River, capsizing the vessel near Ream Road in Sandusky Township around 8:50 p.m. Sunday. John Johnston, an ODNR investigator, said the boat was operated by Timothy Blatt, 55, of Tiffin.

Mr. Johnson said Mr. Blatt may have moved too close to the river bank.

Two people were rescued from the waist-deep water with the aid of an air boat.

Two passengers, Paul Busack, 16, of Amsden in Seneca County and Daniel Raufer, 14, of Tiffin were taken to Fremont Memorial Hospital for treatment for scrapes and cuts.
