Elmore man appointed Wood County EMA chief

BOWLING GREEN An Elmore man was appointed yesterday by the Wood County commissioners as the new director of the county s Emergency Management Agency.

Bradley Gilbert, technical coordinator for the Ottawa County Sanitary Engineering Department, replaces J. Eric Larson, who resigned in July to take a job as Lake Township fire chief.

Mr. Gilbert, who has worked for Ottawa County for 21 years, was public information officer for the Ottawa County EMA for 11 years and currently serves as a volunteer firefighter and assistant emergency medical service chief for the Harris Township-Elmore Fire Department.

County Administrator Andrew Kalmar said Mr. Gilbert will be paid $53,059 a year. He will begin his new job Nov. 6.
