North Baltimore fires village administrator

10/5/2006

NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio - Village council fired Village Administrator Henry DeJulia pm Tuesday night, saying his abilities did not fit the southern Wood County village's needs.

Mr. DeJulia was hired in May, 2005, to replace former Administrator Ken Sauer, who resigned after four years on the job. Council's 4-2 decision to fire Mr. DeJulia came after a lengthy executive session.

Mayor Ned Sponsler said yesterday that Mr. DeJulia's experience primarily was in economic development, which North Baltimore needed, but council members felt he was not strong on personnel and project supervision and other duties required of him.

Mr. DeJulia, who was paid $48,171 a year, was not given a severance package, the mayor said.
