Boil-water advisory lifted for all in Perrysburg area

11/29/2006

About 30 Perrysburg homes that had remained on a boil-water advisory since it was first instituted nearly a week ago were cleared to use public water again this morning, city officials said.

They were among about 10,000 customers east of State Rt. 25 in Perrysburg and Perrysburg Township who were ordered to boil their water Nov. 22 after service was lost for around an hour because of a suspected electrical pump failure. The advisory was lifted Sunday for most of the affected residents, but continued for about 100 customers in certain areas of the city and township.

The advisory was further reduced yesterday to about 30 city homes located on the 800 and 900 blocks of Mulberry Street, between Findlay and West South Boundary streets.

John Alexander, city administrator, said the boil advisory is now lifted for all customers and the city s water system is fully operational. An engineering firm is being hired by the city to review what happened.
