Spring storm-damaged businesses may get loans

12/1/2006

Federal disaster loans are available for small businesses in Lucas, Fulton, and Williams counties that suffered economic losses from storms that hit the area in the spring, the U.S. Small Business Administration announced yesterday.

The loans are in response to similar action taken by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture to help farmers recover from damage and crop loss from the excessive rain, flooding, and high winds from April 26 and continuing.

Up to $1.5 million in loans through SBA s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program are available for farm-related and nonfarm-related small businesses and small agricultural cooperatives.
