Continental is still under boil advisory

12/14/2006

CONTINENTAL, Ohio A boil water advisory in the Putnam County village of Continental continues through 2:30 p.m. today after a water main break yesterday morning caused by work on an industrial construction project.

The break occurred about 11:15 a.m. along the 100 block of Elm Street near the village water plant, where a main water line supplying the village was struck in a project at New Millennium, a company that builds steel trusses, officials said.

For a couple of hours, all water pressure was lost in the village, which is about 54 miles southwest of Toledo.

Continental water superintendent Tim Phillips said repairs to the line were completed about 1:30 p.m. and water service was restored.

Continental Local students were released from school at 1 p.m. two hours early but are expected to be back for classes as usual today.
