A Holland man killed Wednesday in a traffic crash at North Curtice and Seaman roads in Jerusalem Township died from multiple injuries, according to the Lucas County coroner's office.

Eldon L. Moomaw, 70, was pronounced dead at the scene

Mr. Moomaw was driving northbound on Curtice about 3:40 p.m. when his car and an SUV, which was eastbound on Seaman, collided, authorities said.

Mr. Moomaw failed to yield at a stop sign at Seaman and the SUV struck the driver's side of the car. His car then hit a pole on the northeast corner of the intersection, troopers at the Walbridge post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

A passenger in the car, Roosevelt Payton, 71, of Toledo, was flown by medical helicopter to University Medical Center. A hospital spokesman said she did not have a patient by that name at the center.

The driver of the SUV, Karen Montry, 55, of Curtice, was treated at St. Charles Mercy Hospital.
