LUCKEY, Ohio Gas service had been restored to more than 300 of the 390 homes in Luckey by 11:30 a.m. today after residents lost their gas service yesterday.

A construction crew ruptured a 3-inch steel medium pressure line on Locust Street near Luckey Road just before 4 p.m. prompting Columbia Gas of Ohio crews to shut off service to about 390 households.

Columbia Gas Spokesman Chris Kozak said that after repairs were made, crews began going door-to-door to re-light gas furnaces and appliances about 10:30 last night and worked through the night.

The American Red Cross set up a temporary shelter at Eastwood High School.
