LUCKEY, Ohio The heat was back on in this Wood County village by 3:30 p.m. yesterday following a gas line rupture that caused a loss of gas service to nearly 400 households.

Columbia Gas of Ohio Spokesman Chris Kozak said crews were able to restore service to all but 20 to 25 residences in Luckey because no one was home at those locations.

We leave a tag with our phone number on the door, he said. If someone comes home, we ll have a crew there throughout the night and we ll offer same-day service [today],Sunday and New Year s Day.

About 4 p.m. Thursday, a construction crew ruptured a 3-inch medium pressure line on Locust Street near Luckey Road, prompting Columbia Gas to shut off service to about 390 households. Once repairs were made, crews began going door-to-door to re-light gas furnaces and appliances about 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
