Coast Guard helicopter rescues man dangling from grain elevator

A worker danging some 110 feet in the air from a grain elevator in Ottawa Lake, Mich., has been rescued by a Coast Guard helicopter.

The man, who has not yet been identfied, was taken to Toledo Hospital, where he is reported in stable condition.

Ottawa Lake volunteer fire department received a call about 8:15 a.m. today about the man, who was dangling from a grain elevator located along Memorial Highway near Sterns Road. The Coast Guard was contacted and joined firefighters at the scene.

The grain elevator is owned by Archer Daniels Midland Co. in Decatur, Illinois.
