Toledo man killed as car strikes tree

A Toledo man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Weckerly Road east of Eber Road in Springfield Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Brian Volmar, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene when authorities responded to the crash reported about 4:40 a.m. yesterday, troopers at the patrol's Toledo post said.

It was unknown yesterday when the accident occurred.

Mr. Volmar was driving a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser north on Weckerly when he failed to round a curve, went off the road, and hit a tree, troopers said.
