OAK HARBOR An Oak Harbor man was hurt seriously Thursday night when two snowmobiles collided on the Portage River, the Ottawa County Sheriff s Office said.

Mark Millinger was flown to University Medical Center where he was admitted in serious condition, a hospital spokesman said.

Mr. Millinger was riding a snowmobile about 9:25 p.m. on the river behind the Riverview Nursing Home in the 8100 block of State Rt. 163 when he lost control and started to spin, deputies said.

A second snowmobile, being driven by Wayne T. Martin, of Port Clinton, turned to avoid Mr. Millinger s vehicle, hit a rocky bank behind the nursing home, went airborne, and landed in the grass. He was not hurt, deputies said.

Mr. Millinger s snowmobile also struck the rock pile. Both snowmobiles had moderate damage, deputies said.
