Train, semi collide at Luna Pier crossing
2/9/2007LUNA PIER, Mich. - A train and a tractor-trailer collided yesterday at a grade crossing just west of here, but no serious injuries were reported.
A southbound Norfolk Southern train hauling automobiles from Detroit to Gibson, Ind., struck the truck's trailer at Luna Pier Road about 12:20 p.m., railroad spokesman Rudy Husband said.
The train remained at the scene until shortly after 4 p.m., he said.
No one aboard the train was hurt; the truck driver had minor injuries, authorities said.
No other information was available from Erie Township police, which is handling the incident.
