Links of the Day

2/15/2007

Jeremy Guy at the MAC office tells me the league's announcement of their review of Tuesday night's BG-Buffalo game could come this afternoon.

While I continue to wait, here's some links to check out:

Ray Mernagh at Hoopwise picks his favorite for MAC Player of the Year: Toledo's Kashif Payne. He makes some good points. Kashif is playing his brains out right now. In conference play he's fourth in assists and assist-to-turnover ratio and making 42 percent of his 3's. That doesn't mean I'm going back on what I wrote on Monday, though.

While Dan Dakich waits to hear the possible consequences of his "they cheated us" response to Tuesday's loss, his former boss and coach receives a public reprimand from the Big 12 Conference. Knight called a charge call "horrendous" in Saturday's loss to Oklahoma State. What, no profanity? That's no fun.

My friend Scott Fontaine of the Tacoma (Wash.) News Tribune has a piece on a pretty good high school basketball player who ended up in Washington after his uncle floated over from Cuba. I have a soft spot for "Coming to America" stories, maybe you do too.
