Mississippi justice to address Black History Brunch

James E. Graves, Jr., the first African-American Supreme Court justice in Mississippi, will be the keynote speaker at the Perry Burroughs Democratic Women s Club s third annual Black History Brunch at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gladieux Meadows, 4480 Heatherdowns Blvd.

Judge Graves was appointed to the Mississippi Supreme Court in 2001 and was elected to the seat in 2004. He was a circuit judge before that for 10 years.

He will visit Robinson Junior High School and the Lucas County Juvenile Justice Center tomorrow.
