The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has awarded grants to three northwest Ohio organizations which offer boating safety education programs to the public.

The $10,730 grant to the Toledo Power Squadron, $8,179 grant to Ohio 4-H Sea Camp in Erie County, and $4,465 grant to the Lima Power Squadron are among 33 grants the agency awarded statewide for boating safety programs.

State law requires all boaters born after Jan. 1, 1982, to be able to show proof of successfully completing a boater safety course.
