FREMONT - A Fremont man was killed yesterday when his pickup truck went off Sandusky County Road 265 and overturned in a water-filled ditch northeast of Fremont in Riley Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Gerald O. Wolfe, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers at the patrol's Fremont post said.

Mr. Wolfe was eastbound on Road 265 near Riley Township Road 216 about 3:30 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, went off the south side of the road, hit a utility pole guy wire, and overturned into the ditch, troopers said.

Mr. Wolfe was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.
