Family House to open day care and preschool

4/10/2007

The Family House Homeless Shelter will hold a grand opening celebration tomorrow for its preschool and day care.

The shelter s preschool, which recently was licensed through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, plans to meet the educational, social, and emotional needs of homeless and formerly homeless preschool-aged children to prepare them for kindergarten.

The open house will be from 5 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at the shelter, 669 Indiana Ave.

The preschool initially will be available to current and former residents of the shelter. However, plans call for expanding the services to other local homeless shelters.
