MACON, Mich. - A Tecumseh, Mich., teen was seriously hurt yesterday when the car he was riding in went off Goodrich Road at Hack Road and overturned in Lenawee County's Macon Township, troopers at the Michigan State Police post in Adrian said.

John Mull, 16, was flown to University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, where he was in serious condition last night, a hospital spokesman said.

Young Mull was in the backseat of a car being driven south on Goodrich about 1:30 a.m. by Alexander Otter, 20, of Tecumseh. Mr. Otter failed to negotiate the curve at Hack and the car went off the road, rolling over twice. Young Mull was thrown from the vehicle, troopers said.

Mr. Otter and a front-seat passenger, Dustin Waider, 20, of Tecumseh, were taken to Herrick Memorial Hospital, Tecumseh. A hospital spokesman declined to release any patient information.

Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, troopers said.
