The Blade s Road Warrior advises readers each Friday where the biggest driving headaches will be throughout the construction season. He ll tell you the locations

to avoid and the detours to take.

Last summer, paving on Monroe Street caused heartburn for Sylvania motorists.

This year, bridge re-decking on Main Street will be the city s primary traffic obstacle.

Starting Wednesday, Main will be one-way northbound between Monroe and Ravine Drive while the Ten Mile Creek bridge is renovated, said Jeff Ballmer, Sylvania s

service director. Southbound traffic will be detoured via Monroe, Harroun, and Brint roads.

The $755,000 project, to be done by Fort Defi ance Construction of Defiance, Ohio, is scheduled for Nov. 4 completion. While the bridge deck will be replaced one half at a time, the one-way, northbound traffic pattern will remain in place for the entire

project, Mr. Ballmer said.

Along with the structural work, decorative light pilasters will be added on each of the bridge s four corners to improve its appearance, the service director said.
